If your name is David Bailey, you may well have already heard about Samsung’s advertising campaign for their new NX Smart Cameras. In September Samsung and Cheil Media started a media campaign through social networks, press and other digital media offering a free camera to anyone called “David Bailey”. They wanted to show that with their new NX cameras anyone could take great pictures like the great photographer, David Bailey. With only days before the gathering of the Baileys, the promotion was escalated into a full TV campaign and Event Projection were enlisted by Rokkit TV to provide projector hire with a back drop of Four projection screens to show live pictures taken from the NX cameras over WiFi throughout the days shoot. Four custom made rear projection screens were blasted by 15000 Lumen Sanyo XF47 projectors to compete with both daylight and studio lighting and perfumed admirably, going to show that size sometimes does make all the difference. The West London location was crammed with the wanna-be Baileys all waring the trademark black roll necks. After being armed with their Samsung cameras they had the opportunity to experiment with them with various shooting set-ups from Fashion to Still Life and Macro. Even a contortionist was brought in to pose!
