The 17th Century Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte has probably hosted a few impressive events over the years, but we bet projection mapping for weddings doesn’t happen often!  In fact, we reckon being projected onto was probably a first for this magnificent piece of architecture.

The outstanding chateau is steeped in history, and most notably marked the beginning of a style of its own. It was the first major project which brought together the talents of architect Louis Le Vau, painter Charles Le Brun and landscape designer André le Nôtre.

The venue was chosen as a very impressive wedding venue, back in 2016.  The happy couple wanted their special day to be really memorable. So they opted to have the building mapped with content created for, and about them, based on their life together.

We were brought into the project with only a couple of weeks’ notice by content designer Rupert Newman after a local company said it wasn’t possible. Following a site visit, the building was given a quick and dirty 3D model and six projectors were used to transform the building using Ai Media Servers.

With only eight hours of darkness, our techs had to work fast to make things come to life before the show the following evening.  The projection mapping show, and following fireworks display ended a really elaborate event.
